Even large corporations with highly capable facilities management staffs outsource relocations and restacking to Lesley & Associates. Several large corporations outsource day-to-day churn management to Lesley under contracts for on-site staffing.

Lesley provides both expert capabilities and the management perspective of an internal facilities department for each project. We tailor our services to each situation, but follow a consistent approach proven effective in over 300 projects.

The distribution of information technology to all levels of business today makes every move somewhat specialized. One of Lesley’s key roles today is coordinating the de-installation and re-installation of IT systems, providing an information bridge between IT management and IT service providers to ensure that all systems are up and running on schedule.

Lesley’s experience includes managing relocation of numerous facilities requiring specialized technological support, handling, and/or security. Here are some examples:

Health Care
Lesley managed relocation of Memorial Herman Hospital’s emergency center and women’s and children’s patient floors into its new 800,000 square foot Pavillion in the Texas Medical Center in Houston. The movement of staff, equipment, offices, records, and patients was closely coordinated with the completion of construction and the installation of new equipment to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
R&D
Lesley managed relocation of Sterling Winthrop’s 1 million square foot R&D center from Albany, NY to Philadelphia, PA. The move involved many ongoing research projects that required special packing, handling, and security to maintain experimental controls required by FDA regulations.
Trading Floors
Lesley has relocated energy company trading floors without disruption of global trading activities.
Educational
Lesley has managed the moves of several Rice University academic departments into new buildings as they were completed on campus. We moved the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music to its new building.
For Houston Independent School District, Lesley managed the delivery and installation of all furnishings, equipment, and supplies to two large new high schools in preparation for opening in the fall.
Government
Lesley managed relocation of 1,600 Houston Police Department officers and staff to new headquarters and 2,500 city employees to a new City Hall Annex. Relocation of criminal evidence and the Crime Lab required strict security measures, including a SWAT team escort for moving vans, to ensure the integrity of evidence and lab work.
